Description:

Join our highly successful and growing commodities business as an oil trader, based in our London office. The Global Oil Trading team manages market risk and provides liquidity in derivatives such as swaps and options to help clients manage their oil price exposures. You will join a highly motivated and strongly collaborative team in which every person plays an important role.
At Macquarie, our advantage is bringing together diverse people and empowering them to shape all kinds of possibilities. We are a global financial services group operating in 34 markets and with 55 years of unbroken profitability. You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team where everyone - no matter what role - contributes ideas and drives outcomes.
What role will you play?
You will be responsible for developing, monitoring and maintaining tools to manage various risk exposures for the desk as well as learn how to price and execute client trades. This will evolve into taking responsibility for risk and leveraging market expertise to build P&L as part of the trading team. You will also work closely with other traders and analysts to share market insights and strategies, while actively participating in team meetings and collaborating with stakeholders across teams and regions.
You will also help manage our European physical oil business where you will take responsibility for risk, pricing and P&L across our physical deals. This will involve close interaction internally, with our origination and logistics teams, and externally, as our face to the market.

What you offer

  • A university degree with a quantitative focus
  • An analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Strong communication skills and strong team ethic
  • Great attention to detail and coding proficiency
  • Eagerness to learn and develop your own path

We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us, if you’re excited about the role or working at Macquarie we encourage you to apply.
