Description:
An exciting opportunity exists for a permanent, full time Orthotist, to join the in-house Orthotics department at Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust. This is a varied clinical role with inpatient and outpatients clinics in a wide range of disciplines.

The successful candidate will form part of a team of 10 Orthotists, 6 technicians and 6 administrators. There is an on-site workshop with CAD-CAM scanner and milling machine. The clinicians have access to a Rodin and I-pad scanner. It is an innovative team who work closely with orthotic companies and the wider trust to develop new ways of effectively treating patients. The majority of clinical activity will be at the Queens Medical Centre campus in a new purpose build department and at City Hospital campus, although work in the community may be required.
Multi-disciplinary teamwork is thoroughly encouraged and the trust has numerous multi-disciplinary and complex case loads. These include:
Diabetic Foot
Adult Foot & Ankle
Neurology
Paediatric
Spinal including HALO’s, Scoliosis, Trauma, Kyphosis and Cervical Conditions.
Applicants must be HCPC registered and preferably members of BAPO.

The Orthotics department aims to provide the most efficient and effective care to patients, to set new standards in orthotic treatment and to constantly improve to meet the demands of our users and commissioners.
Our provision of cost effective care gives us opportunities to utilise up to date orthotic technology including, footwear scanning, stance phase control KAFOs, and innovative spinal bracing.
The post holder with cover outpatients and inpatient clinics in the acute trust. Inpatient work will be done 1-2 sessions per week, outpatient clinic 6-7 sessions per week and one session per week of CPD. Outpatient clinics include paediatrics, neuro, KAFO, diabetic foot and general clinics, some are joint with other orthotists and some multidisciplinary. All clinicians are encouraged to be actively involved in their own development and the improvement of the department.
