At The Cadogan, A Belmond Hotel, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Junior Pastry Sous Chef to join our team. As a member of our kitchen staff, you will work alongside a dedicated culinary team to ensure the highest standards of food and service are maintained at our luxury hotels, trains, river cruises, and safari lodges worldwide. As a Junior Pastry Sous Chef, you will be an integral part of our team, sharing your expertise and creativity to deliver exceptional experiences to our guests.

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a high-pressure environment
  • Passion for pastry and a dedication to precision and detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in chocolate work and cake decoration
  • Experience in creating and baking bakery items
  • Knowledge of gluten-free and sugar-free pastry options
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Pastry Chef in creating and implementing innovative pastry menus and bakery items
  • Support the overall pastry kitchen and bakery team by ensuring a high level of food quality and presentation standards
  • Take responsibility for the training and development of junior pastry team members
  • Maintain inventory levels of pastry ingredients and ensure that all supplies are ordered in a timely manner
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of special events or occasions
  • Ensure compliance with current food hygiene and safety regulations
  • Actively participate in the development of new pastry and bakery recipes, including gluten-free, vegan and sugar-free options
