Role Overview:
As a Junior PHP Engineer at 6B Digital, you will play a pivotal role within our development and support team. You will work closely with our engineering team, project managers, and clients to design and implement robust, scalable, and secure PHP-based solutions. You will work across a number of systems, assisting clients in their support and application management.
Key Responsibilities:

GENERAL SKILLS

• Adheres to company guidelines in best practices to development
• Manage their own backlog of tickets in Jira
• Write their own development tasks with assistance using written user stories
• Estimates tickets in a backlog
• Contributes in Agile ceremonies
• Contributes on calls with internal and external stakeholders.
• Capable of demoing work to external and internal stakeholders, walking through each task and reporting on their progress.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Usually at least 1+ years of experience being a professional engineer in the specific domain.
• Experience in PHP development, including and not required, but Laravel and bespoke PHP frameworks.
• An appetite of working in a team with a DevOps culture surrounded by lean / agile delivery methodologies
• Experience in relational and non relational databases such as MySQL and MariaDB
• A basic understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
• Ability to perform in a fast paced environment and to communicate effectively
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with an attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and project management tools (JIRA, Confluence).
• Working with version control software such as GitHub.
