Main Purpose:
Galena Asset Management is seeking a talented and driven individual to join our team as a Junior Portfolio Manager. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the day-to-day management of our hedge funds, contributing to our continued success and growth.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trade execution and reconciliation: You will be responsible for executing trades and ensuring accurate reconciliation processes, ensuring seamless operations and maintaining the integrity of our portfolio.
  • Trade analysis and daily/weekly reporting: Conduct in-depth analyses of trades and provide insightful reports daily and weekly to keep stakeholders informed and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Risk and exposure monitoring: Closely monitor and assess risk levels and exposure, implementing proactive measures to mitigate potential risks and maintain a well-balanced portfolio.
  • Generate trade ideas: Leverage your analytical skills and market knowledge to identify promising trade opportunities, contributing to the fund’s overall performance and growth.
  • Assist in marketing efforts: Support our marketing team by providing valuable insights, data, and analysis to enhance our client outreach and engagement strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience of 3-5 years in a relevant field, such as fund management, trading, administration, or research, with strong analytical skills.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets and investment principles, keen interest in staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, willing to take initiative and contribute innovative ideas to drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is valuable, enabling effective communication with a diverse client base.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally, fostering collaboration and trust.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, including proficiency in VBA coding, is essential. Familiarity with Python and C/C++ is a significant advantage.
