Blue Projects is one of the most dynamic firms, specializing in providing unique and bespoke Engineering and Project Management solutions for clients in the industrial sector.
To further our strategic business growth, we are looking for a Junior Process Engineer in our Belgium office.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluency in Dutch and English is essential.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Process Engineering/Project Management in industrial sectors, preferably FMCG or similar.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical/Process Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of generating PFDs, P&IDs, and performing simple process calculations like mass and energy balances.
- Familiarity with plant layout design, piping/mechanical design, and detailing, with a willingness to learn.
- Some exposure to working with multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, electrical, automation, production) in a support role.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on developing time management abilities.
- Familiarity with 2D and 3D CAD systems, with a willingness to improve proficiency.
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office; knowledge of Microsoft Project is a plus but not required.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for business trips and project-related relocations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in reviewing project deliverables to help define basic process requirements.
- Support in developing PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment layouts under supervision for industrial projects.
- Work with senior engineers to gather and confirm project design requirements from clients and stakeholders.
- Help implement and monitor manufacturing processes, ensuring safety and performance standards are met.
- Assist in conducting process simulations and provide support in troubleshooting basic issues.
- Prepare basic specifications for piping, insulation, instrumentation, and equipment as directed.
- Assist in producing tender or RFQ documents with guidance from senior team members.
- Help in verifying and validating Material Take Off (MTOs) under supervision.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding equipment and instrumentation specifications as needed.
- Assist in tracking project progress and updating project plans.
- Contribute to design improvements and quality assurance under the direction of senior engineers.
- Help monitor project milestones and provide updates to the project team.
- Participate in risk assessments, FMEAs, HAZOPs, and other safety studies with guidance from senior staff.
- Assist in developing Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Support on-site commissioning activities, including mechanical completion verification, punch listing, and performance testing under supervision.
