Description:

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Process Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will support the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency and quality in production.

Experience - Essential

  • A foundation/background of Mechanical Engineering knowledge, including materials, GD&T and mechanical schemes.
  • Strong time-keeping and work ethic with excellent attention to detail.
  • A passion for problem solving.
  • A confident communicator, written and verbal, with experience collaborating between different departments and external partners professionally and with confidence.
  • A flexible approach to work with the ability to learn and take on different responsibilities with ease.
  • A passion for Engineering, Manufacturing, Aerospace and Defence

Experience - Desirable

  • A graduate or post graduate level qualification in an Engineering discipline.
  • Experience gained in a manufacturing environment, ideally Aerospace or related heavily controlled industry.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques including machining of plastic and metal, hand lay-up, compression, transfer and injection moulding and additive manufacture.
  • Experience working with manufacturing ERP systems, preferably Epicor

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the process engineering tasks within the department. These include, but are not limited to, method reviews, contract reviews and tooling/process improvements, plus others.
  • Ensure that departmental data is updated and maintained with integrity to reliably capture the performance of the department.
  • To contribute towards manufacturing processes, in terms of deciding which machine, process and specific parameters are to be utilised to produce a wide range of precision engineered parts.
  • To generate detailed job/method instructions ensuring that clear, unambiguous instructions are delivered to enable repeatable manufacturing outputs.
  • To help resolve both internal and external investigation reports, determine root cause for a variety of quality issues, along with corrective and preventative actions in line with the 8 disciplines problem solving technique.
  • To contribute to various improvement projects aimed at improving quality (process yield) or reducing cost (cycle time) through engineering continuous improvement initiatives.
  • To contribute towards DFX (Design For X) reviews to help aid manufacturing readiness.
