Description:
Montrium is building its next generation platform for clinical research, in a cloud-native, microservices architecture based on the Microsoft Azure platform ecosystem.
Montrium is looking for a Junior Product Designer to join our design team and grow with us as we create impactful, user-friendly experiences for the Life Sciences industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to learn and contribute to the design of new features, new products, and new solutions in a collaborative and supportive environment for Montrium clients.
Reporting to the Head of Product Design, the Junior Product Designer will be involved in product design aspects.
As a member of the Product group, you will:
- Participate in collaborative workshops with technical teams and subject matter experts to define and elaborate the concepts and designs.
- Collaborate with senior designers and cross-functional teams (product managers, customer support specialists, software engineers, and subject matter experts) to support the design and development of intuitive and user-centered products.
- Assist in conducting user research activities, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights about user needs and pain points.
- Create low- to medium-fidelity wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to explore and communicate design ideas.
- Apply design principles to create visually appealing layouts while maintaining brand and accessibility standards.
- Contribute to building and maintaining design systems by creating reusable components and assets.
- Support the design handoff process by preparing design files, annotations, and specifications for developers.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide ideas that align with product goals.
- Learn from and act on feedback provided by customers, senior designers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
- Be an inspiring and motivating team member.
KNOWLEDGE:
- A degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A portfolio showcasing your design work, including wireframes, prototypes, and visual design.
- Basic understanding of accessibility and usability best practices.
- Basic understanding of user-centered design principles and processes.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle in conjunction with DevOps, DevSecOps, SRE, SCRUM and Agile methodologies.
- A keen eye for detail and a strong sense of visual design, including consistency, layout, typography, and color theory.
- Demonstrated proficiency in design tools such as Figma.
- Familiarity with creating low- and medium-fidelity prototypes for design validation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Knowledge of the Life Sciences industry is an asset but not a requirement however, a keen interest to learn and incorporate industry knowledge is important for this position (GxP compliance, US FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EudraLex Volume 4 Annex 11, GAMP and other regulations and laws)
SOFT SKILLS:
- Written and spoken fluency in English and French is essential (other languages are an asset).
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills, team-player, ability to integrate well with others.
- Good communicator with the ability to inspire others, give great feedback and facilitate productive workshops.
