Responsibilities:

ROLE AND DESCRIPTION:

  • Looking for bright and energetic Junior to Intermediate Project Manager – Infrastructure Project Coordinator to join our Vancouver team as a maternity backfill opportunity for about 1 year in duration.
  • Our client is a large, complex and highly-regulated organization with a requirement to conduct IT Projects in a controlled and structured manner.
  • As a fully-outsourced IT organization, Project Coordinators typically interact with multiple service providers, vendors and teams.
  • The candidate will be accountable for delivering internal application development and IT infrastructure that require overall planning, organization, execution, and control of the project.
  • This role is critical to ensuring that the project is holistically led and managed to ensure success of the full development life cycle activities including vendor management and stakeholder expectation management.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Maintaining an understanding of IT Infrastructure deliverables at the component level.
  • Manage internal application development and IT infrastructure with the collaboration of the GIS Portfolio Lead and key stakeholders in such a way that the work results are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Develop the project statement, the project plans (communication, scope, quality, risk, human resources, schedule, financial and environment requirements), and the various project reports.
  • Plan, organize, and control the activities and resources of the delivery group.
  • Lead, support, and follow up on the execution of the internal application development and IT infrastructure.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on progress of the delivery group, and project performance (budget, cost, schedule, scope, quality, risk, and issue).
  • Maintain overall change control procedure, overall project plans, and detailed plan.
  • Ensure that the project work results are compliant with the stated requirements, priorities, and strategies of the internal application development and IT infrastructure.
  • Maintain a liaison with the client, business solution manager, and external providers to coordinate the project activities.
  • Control deliverable review and obtain written approval for them.
  • Carry out project progress and status reviews.
  • Recommend corrective actions to the steering committee and ensure execution of approved corrective actions.
  • Raise project issues and risks, as well as quality and scope deviations.
  • Escalate issues, risks and problems to the identified authority when the situation so requires.

TECHNICAL COORDINATION DUTIES/REQUIREMENTS:

  • For IT infrastructure projects, maintain an understanding of the components being delivered by the Infrastructure Vendor is needed so that schedules can be created, and discussions on topics can be verbalizes at the component level.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with SMEs when detail technical requirements /analysis of the components is required.
  • An eagerness to learn and develop an understanding of topics is always key to the success of performing the technical coordination and communication of these duties.
