REQUIREMENTS

  • 1+ years’ experience in Quality Assurance in an agile environment.
  • An interest in hardware would be very advantageous.
  • Exposure to Microsoft technology implementations with C#, IIS, SQL Server, Windows Server.
  • Experience of working on a product hosted in AWS/Azure.
  • Experience in testing dynamic applications across either web or tablet/smartphone.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • It would be good if you have some database skills and have some experience of writing SQL queries as well as PowerShell scripting.
  • Logical trouble shooting mindset with proven track record of utilizing these skills to get to the root cause of issues.
  • Experience testing API & Database levels of a product or application.
  • Some knowledge of CI/CD tooling and processes an advantage.
  • Ability to take direction but begin to work under your own initiative and must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to adapt to test processes and improve these where necessary.
  • Good English skills are essential.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will join our engineering team. We use the latest .NET technologies and tools – SOA Architecture, Domain Driven Design, Microservices and NServiceBus. You will want to work on a product that is deployed on-premises as well as in the cloud. You will report to a team lead and work in collaboration with our engineers, product owners and UI/UX designers.
You should be really interested in technology and hardware. You are naturally curious, like to learn and love solving problems. You will challenge the status quo, look for opportunities for improvement everywhere and become a great team member.
Focusing on best practice, we operate in agile, cross functional teams who are empowered to make decisions and deliver fast and often, trying to make the gap between deliveries smaller and smaller with each release.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Understand both the business functionality and underlying architecture of the software product you are testing on and use this knowledge to define efficient test scope.
  • Design and create test cases and scripts to address business and technical use cases.
  • Use Jira as the tool of choice for defining software release contents, supporting agile work practices, and reporting defects.
  • Use Test Rail as the test tool of choice for test case documentation, test management and reporting.
  • Interact with product management and development teams in all agile ceremonies - planning, refinement, daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure that you and your team members have a full understanding of what is being asked by Product. Input into acceptance criteria by asking the right questions to both Product and Engineering to understand what is being delivered and how it is being delivered. Translate this into test scope and test cases.
  • Execute testing including exploratory across the applications backend and frontend while using a range of hardware including desktop, mobile and tablets.
  • Testing out new Android hardware.
  • Participate in troubleshooting of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution.
  • Deploying to and maintaining test environments using our CI/CD pipeline working with tools like octopus.
  • Deploying & Testing Oneview software on Windows and Android Hardware
  • Continually look to improve the QA process.
  • Over time become familiar with many of the differing tools and techniques that Oneview employs to ensure we deliver a quality product, such as:


    • ADB (android debug bridge)



      • IPTV (internet Protocol TV)



        • EMM (Enterprise mobility Management) such as AirWatch
