Description:

WHO ARE WE?

Searchlight Cyber provides organisations with relevant and actionable dark web threat intelligence, to help them identify and prevent criminal activity.
Founded in 2017 with a mission to stop criminals acting with impunity on the dark web, we have been involved in some of the world’s largest dark web investigations and have the most comprehensive dataset based on proprietary techniques and ground-breaking academic research.
Today we help government and law enforcement, enterprises, and managed security services providers around the world to illuminate deep and dark web threats and prevent attacks.

WHAT WILL I DO?

  • Attend daily standups with the product and development teams and contribute in other agile ceremonies such as retrospectives.
  • Create detailed test cases based on acceptance criteria, refining as appropriate
  • Test our core product suite, prioritising and completing test activities following best practice
  • Liaise with our test lead, developers and product owners, for questions, exceptions and anything test related - we’re looking for someone proactive
  • Work closely with the development team to prioritise, manage and retest defects, including managing timescales
  • Troubleshoot issues, understand root causes and potential workarounds; effectively feed back to the relevant stakeholders
  • Contribute to reviews of team wide test cases, ensuring full coverage
  • Develop effective test plans to identify the scope and types of testing required
  • Become an expert in our products, understanding desired behaviour and how this will meet our customers needs.
  • Actively participate in 3 amigos sessions and refinement meetings to ensure that user stories have full acceptance criteria captured in a testable format.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Experience in a manual testing role, ideally against SaaS products, with a keen interest to learn more
  • Understanding of how web applications work, where and how data is stored etc
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing testing from user story inception to release deployment
  • Exceptional communication skills, with demonstrated history of writing succinct test cases and feedback to all stakeholders from the CTO downwards.
  • An exploratory testing expert, able to identify bugs that others would miss
  • Skilled in working with product owners and the wider team to refine acceptance criteria, subsequently designing, reviewing and execute test cases in an efficient manner
  • Knowledge of testing concepts such as functional and non- functional testing, usability, security, load/stress testing
  • Experience with testing/development tools such as the below would be useful:
  • Postman
  • Testomat.io
  • Jira
  • GitLab
  • Always looking for ways to improve our testing process and products, delivering the best results internally and externally
  • A good sense of time management, effectively prioritising tasks and workload to create the best result
  • A creative problem-solver, anticipating issues, testing for them, and then assisting in a speedy resolution
