JUNIOR QA ENGINEER (WEB)

Junior Quality Assurance Engineer, Junior Agile QA
We are growing our Digital department and are looking for a Junior QA Engineer to join our ranks. With a collaborative focus and a drive to do the right thing, you’ll become a key part of Digital Delivery as we work to implement features to delight our customers.
You’ll get the chance to build your skills in Agile and testing for the UK’s largest retail insurers’ digital applications, helping to drive their business, expand their offerings, and playing a pivotal role in assisting them with modernising their tech stacks.
By working with us you’ll develop a drive to iterate and innovate with a quality focus as your experience grows. You’ll learn all the basic testing techniques and some of the advanced ones too!

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • Approximately 1 year of commercial experience as a QA Engineer
  • Minimum A Level standard or equivalent, preferably with an IT-related degree
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • A proactive, positive ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Solution-orientated
  • Understanding of left shifting and the testing pyramid
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment desirable
  • Experience with Cypress desirable
  • Experience of using automation tools such as Selenium and Soap UI desirable
  • Understanding of AWS cloud technologies desirable
  • Insurance experience desirable

Responsibilities:

As a contributor in a hybrid working environment, you will play a pivotal role in the quality assurance of innovative web applications. On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Be involved in the entire Software Delivery Lifecycle.
  • Prevent the creation of defects in our software.
  • Work proactively with the team to instil quality into our products and practices.
  • Embed modern testing approaches as part of a whole-team responsibility for quality.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively in an Agile environment.
  • Drive an automation approach with the Test Pyramid in mind.
