Qualifications:
- B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Eligible to register as an EIT with EGBC
- Experience working in research environment
- Mechanical design
- Piping systems design
- Machining, fabrication, and assembly
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics

YOUR ROLE:
Are you a mechanical engineering with a passion for solving real world problems? At Coanda Research and Development we work on complex technical problems with a help of multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists and technicians. We’re seeking a Junior Research Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Junior Research Engineer, you’ll be an integral part of our research initiatives. You’ll collaborate with our multi-disciplinary team to explore new technologies, conduct experiments, execute designs, and contribute to groundbreaking projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and make a real impact.
Projects will be based mainly out of our industrial laboratory facility in Burnaby. However, there are also potential opportunities for fieldwork and travel to our Edmonton branch or clients’ facilities based on project requirements. The candidate must thrive in a team-oriented environment, as well as work well independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research Engineering project support
- Trouble shoot experimental set up and update design requirements as needed
- Develop experimental equipment operating procedures
- Mechanical design calculations (pressure drop, heat transfer etc.)
- Coordinate and assist in data collection in laboratory as required
- Assistance with equipment assembly as required
- Mechanical and process equipment specification
- 3D modeling of equipment
- Generation of fabrication drawings
- Equipment and materials procurement
Qualifications:
- B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Eligible to register as an EIT with EGBC

The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
