Job Description
The Group Security, Trust, and Safety team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment protecting hundreds of employees and millions of end-users. We lead, design, execute, and manage security initiatives, projects, products, and features across all marketplaces to improve the security of the infrastructure and our marketplaces, that is to ensure the safety of our employees and end-users.
We actively monitor our infrastructure, systems, platforms, and marketplaces for attacks, intrusions, and fraud signals, and mitigate them.
SMG values security, and the Security team’s mission is to protect the users and their data without sacrificing User Experience or convenience. The Security team reports directly to the CEO.
In this role, you will be responsible for the Software Development Lifecycle.
This role is ideal for someone eager to start a career in cybersecurity, gain hands-on experience, and grow their technical and analytical skills within a supportive team environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completed or currently pursuing studies in cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field
- Experience with programming (e.g., Java, Go, NodeJS, TypeScript), web development, or databases (e.g., SQL, MySQL)
- Hands-on technical experience in one or more areas: cloud security, network security, cloud-native security, SIEM, IAM design, authentication protocols, or security operations
- Experience in security problem-solving, threat modelling, security architecture, risk assessment, or security reviews
- Ability to design and implement security features such as authentication, authorization, and access control
- Ability to work independently, and willingness to adapt and learn in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Additional Information
Responsibilities:
- Design and Implement security solutions in close collaboration with cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Operations, Product)
- Research security trends and help develop strategies to reduce risks, enhance system resilience, and prevent vulnerabilities
- Perform technical security assessments, code audits, design reviews, and exercises to ensure the robustness of security controls, and integrate security best practices throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Organize meetings with vendors and external suppliers, and ensure effective internal communication on security matters
- Proactively identify automation and efficiency opportunities independently
- Experience analyzing the security of systems (Web Application security testing, platform or cloud-native security, vulnerability scanning, threat modeling, etc.)
