As a Junior Server Engineer the primary purpose of the job is to support, maintain, develop, deploy and optimise the internal services and server infrastructure within a complex multi-site IT environment. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and focused individual who will mainly be responsible for the support & configuration of server equipment in all locations and work across teams on a daily basis.
This will help us excel to stay ahead of the game.
What you’ll be doing

As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working within the team to provide support and development of new capabilities in the fields of cloud, virtualisation, server software and hardware, storage and interoperability.
  • Mentoring Junior members of the team.
  • Work toward taking on responsibilities for the operation of the server estate, virtualisation platform and all services across a distributed enterprise.
  • Support provisioning, maintenance, support, capacity planning and optimisation of a high profile infrastructure.
  • Take on responsibility for SAN management providing provisioning, utilisation reporting and capacity management information.
  • Work with teams in delivering services.

Essential skills you’ll bring to the table

The necessary skills that we require for this role include:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively
  • Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams, with a focus on achieving shared goals
  • Expertise in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a track record of delivering on time and within scope
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high standards of quality in all outputs
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and priorities, maintaining effectiveness in dynamic situations
  • Exposure to Windows Server infrastructure
  • Exposure to MS Azure
  • Understanding of SAN storage and the usage in a data centre environment
  • Exposure to virtualisation technologies – ideally VMware 7.0 and higher
  • Windows Server experience
  • Identity management (Active Directory, Azure AD, AAD Connect, Okta)
  • Backup solutions for virtualised infrastructure e.g. Rubrik
  • Experience of monitoring platform administrator (e.g. SolarWinds)

Desirable skills you’ve got up your sleeve

It would be great if you also have some of the following skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets, including odds calculation, betting types and market trends
  • Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry, with a strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations
  • Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to legal standards
  • Experience in developing and executing customer retention strategies
  • ITIL Certification
  • Microsoft Azure Cloud services
  • SolarWinds Hybrid cloud observability
  • Microsoft Exchange 2019
  • Understanding of Networking and connectivity
  • Understanding and exposure to Microsoft SQL server administration
  • Microsoft clustering and availability groups – SQL & Exchange
  • Deployment and patch management – e.g SCCM and WSUS
  • Powershell scripting / Terraform
  • Backup solutions for virtualised infrastructure e.g. Rubrik
  • Data Centre infrastructure operations and remote management
