Description:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for someone to join our World-renowned Cardiac Unit as a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse.
The successful applicants will need to be effective team players and communicator, to be able to efficiently manage the ward team. You will be one of the key links of communication between the patients, families, staff and managers; and will need to be forward thinking to overcome any problems you may face daily, whilst upholding and promoting the Trust Values
We are looking for individuals who have excellent clinical and organisational skills and can provide leadership to the nursing team in order to ensure high quality care is delivered to our patients. The successful candidates will be required to take charge of the department on a day-to-day basis and coordinate flow of patients from arrival through to discharge whilst ensuring patient safety and the sustainability of good staff morale .
Managerially the successful candidates will be expected to manage a team of staff and guide them in their personal and professional development.

§ To assist the Ward Sister in monitoring and managing sickness absence in accordance with Trust policy
§ Under direction of the Ward Sister assist in contributing to the achievement of specialty and Directorate objectives
§ Participate in ensuring that all staff have an annual performance review and personal development plan, and that accurate records are maintained
§ To maintain an appropriate learning environment for pre and post registration learners.
§ To teach clinical and interpersonal skills to the junior staff
§ To participate in maintaining effective systems for Preceptorship and Mentorship for staff
§ To participate in the effective recruitment of staff in accordance with the Trust’s Recruitment Strategy
§ To be responsible for an area of specific responsibility as outlined by the Ward Sister
