An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic nurse to join the Elective Orthopaedic Team at Bradford Royal Infirmary. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain and develop their knowledge of caring for patients undergoing surgery and have involvement in enhanced recovery programmes and collaboration with our vast MDT
To support and assist the departments senior sister in the management of the orthopaedic unit and nursing staff.
To provide leadership to teams of nurses in the delivery of multidisciplinary, high quality patient centred care.
Ensures, along with the departmental senior sister, the implementation and adherence of Trust, National and professional policies, whilst ensuring all team members develop both professionally and practically.

Engages in effective communication with patients, relatives and visitors. Effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication with all members of the multidisciplinary team within own department and relevant departments, which service the clinical areas.
The same communication abilities should be evident with external agencies/social services.
This includes dissemination of information for example – specific instructions pertaining to patient management.
Provides support, empathy and reassurance in the delivery of patient care.
Assist medical staff in breaking bad news to both relatives and patients and show compassion and sensitivity in these circumstances.
Supports junior members of the team to develop confidence in their communication skills
