Responsibilities:

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

The post holder will provide effective leadership and management in the ward, ensuring consistent delivery of safe and effective, high quality care to our patients.

They will take charge of the ward and support the Clinical Matron in ensuring:

  • Appropriate support is provided to staff
  • Appraisals are completed yearly
  • All staff receive appropriate inductions
  • Training needs are identified and provided accordingly
  • Ensure staff are compliant with policies and procedures
  • Supporting the Clinical Matron in clinical governance activities

Other main duties will include:

  • Assess, plan, prioritise and deliver patient care requirements, both physical and psychological
  • Ensure high standard of care is delivered in an effective and efficient manner reflecting the values of the organisation
  • Enhance the patient experience by addressing any concerns appropriately in a timely manner
  • Perform monthly clinical audits, reporting outcome to the Clinical Matron and implementing actions as necessary
  • Participate in Staff Recruitment and Retention
  • Support the Clinical Matron in implementing quality improvements in the ward
