Reporting to the Head of Application Delivery key areas of responsibility include (please see the full job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal and external applications, systems, platforms, and integrations.
- Help maintain the uptime, performance and maintenance of the RSC’s existing platforms and systems
- Provide technical support on projects as needed, following technical direction provided by senior team members where appropriate
- Actively participate in ongoing enhancements and improvements to existing platforms and systems
- Ensure work delivered is robust, well-considered, and optimised for performance, whilst following functional requirement
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Junior Software Developer with sound web development experience to join the Application Delivery team at the RSC. Supported by the Senior developers, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing our existing web applications and systems as needed. You will also work on applications as needed, for example our website, or in-house solutions.

To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following knowledge and experience:
- Working knowledge of software development lifecycle
- Ability to work in and deliver code-based solutions in one or more language, e.g. Angular/JS/React/PHP/C#/Java/SQL
- Knowledge of web development best practices, including responsive design, security, performance, and optimisation
- Aptitude for problem solving, with logical approach to solving software development challenges
- Ability to work well within a team environment, and independently when needed.
The role is ideal for someone with a technical foundation, who is naturally curious, and is keen to continue developing their skills. This might be your first professional developer role, and we’re keen to hear from new graduates as well as those who may be self-taught and changing careers.
This is a full time, permanent position. You will be working 35 hours per week, typically 9am-5pm and will be based in Stratford upon Avon. The role is a hybrid role with 2 days being in the office and 3 days working from home.
