Job Purpose
The role is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, troubleshooting, analysis, and maintenance of the IT Infrastructure for the ‘Betfred Group’ systems; including network connectivity and utilization, Windows server administration, virtualization, performance tuning, backup and restore.

Job Duties

  • Provide technical support to the Betfred Group network and server infrastructure
  • Assist with planning and implementing infrastructure projects, creating project plans, design, and implement solutions.
  • Consults with the wider Technical Services Engineers to obtain technical expertise to act as technical resource within identified business projects, provide technical documentation (Design, Changes, etc) to aid the project delivery.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation relating to server and network topology, equipment, and configuration(s).
  • In time act as technical point of escalation to Betfred Service Desk, ensuring all Incidents are promptly acknowledged, in line with the Incident Management process and internal SLA’s.
  • Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and/or on-call availability as needed.
  • Undertake standard system administration duties including server install, System/Application install and patch management, Windows problem determination and resolution, log analysis, etc
  • Identify, diagnose, and where possible resolve network problems including network connectivity, traffic utilisation, etc. using available network tools to aid resolution.
  • Provide infrastructure services in all areas needed: storage networking, Operating System, network security, directory services, server virtualisation using system backup and restore, system and network monitoring, application installation and configuration.
  • Manage of multiple work-streams; including Problem tickets, Incidents, and Projects, ensuring effective communication across these areas is upheld and attending relevant meetings where necessary to aid in their delivery.
  • Adhere to Betfred Project Management, Incident management and Change Management methodologies.
  • Provide input into Capacity Management, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning.
  • Identify and escalate improvements to the operational management of the server infrastructure including the selection of suitable tools.
  • Investigate emerging technologies, documenting and presenting findings and subsequent benefits of such technologies to Betfred Management team.
  • Any other duties as requested by your manager and commensurate with the role.
