The role is remote with fortnightly visits to our Capenhurst office (CH1 6ES)i.e. 1 day per fortnight
About the role:
As part of the test team for the Connect software family, you will aid in the development of robust, scalable and accessible software products. You will serve as a point of reference for testing within your individual project team, as well as providing support and advice to less experienced members of the test team.
In the Innovation Delivery Team, we develop software products that enable our clients to break new ground in how they operate electricity networks. We help our clients to streamline how they plan and connect low carbon technology to their networks to enable them to supply their customers with the highest quality service possible.

Your aim will be to help them and us achieve our goals of lowering carbon emissions and moving towards a net zero carbon future. This will be achieved through:

  • Contributing to the delivery of quality, scalable software at all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Executing test cases /user journeys, seeking feedback and turning them into great user experiences.
  • Identifying improvements for both new and existing systems.
  • Contributing to documenting organisational standards for testing and ensuring all software meets our coding standards.
  • Participating in day-to-day Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, planning, etc.).

What we’ll need from you:

  • An interest in software development
  • Some basic coding knowledge
  • Great attention to detail and the desire to produce a quality user experience
  • The ability to analyse and write documentation for sometimes complex software
  • To take responsibility and ownership of tasks
  • ISTQB or equivalent qualification is desirable
  • Relevant higher education qualification (degree, HND or equivalent)
