Description:
At Gen, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards in threat detection and customer protection. As part of this effort, we are establishing a dedicated Classification and Labeling Team within the ThreatOps department. This team will play a critical role in boosting the accuracy and efficiency of our threat detection systems, focusing specifically on identifying and classifying scam URLs and malware samples.
We are seeking passionate individuals to join us as Junior Threat Analysts to support this initiative and contribute to our ongoing success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Label incoming threat samples and clusters, ensuring accurate identification and classification of scam URLs, malware, and other potential threats.
- Work closely with the ThreatOps team to support daily operations and improve threat detection systems.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing efforts and collaborate on data analysis projects.
- Actively contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of Genie and AV solutions by handling misclassification reports and managing email and SMS threat clusters.
- Support incident response activities, gaining exposure to various aspects of cybersecurity operations.
Training and Development: You will undergo an intensive, one-month training program that will equip you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to excel in your role. The program will cover:
- Scam detection techniques
- Malware identification methods
- Internal classification guidelines
- Real-world incident response scenarios
In addition, you will benefit from mentorship and collaboration with experienced members of the ThreatOps team and the broader CTO organization.
Qualifications:
- A strong interest in cybersecurity and a desire to learn and grow within the field.
- Basic understanding of threat detection, malware, and scam identification (prior experience is a plus but not required).
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
