We are recruiting for a Junior Underwriter to join our Underwriting team, based in Gibraltar. The successful candidate will provide an underwriting and referral service to brokers and other providers for motor insurance queries.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills, equivalent of GCSE is Maths and English.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Strong organisation skills, ability to work within service level agreements.
- Self-motivated.
- Desire and willingness to commit to studying towards professional insurance qualifications (not mandatory).
- Previous experience in administration or insurance preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with premium calculations for policy changes.
- Assess policies for elements of potential fraud.
- Review claims where there are claim indemnity issues.
- Provide daily assistance through answering phone calls and being part of the daily phone rota.
- Collaborate with other departments to achieve the company’s objectives.
