Salary: As per MECA (Steps 3-7 Section 5.3.4) $72,074 - $86,719

We are seeking an energetic individual who enjoys working within a team and who is passionate about working with young Maori and their whanau. Our ideal kaituruki is able to adopt creative and holistic ways of assisting our rangatahi to recover from a first episode of psychosis.
Experience in working with rangatahi, knowledge of Tikanga Maori, and a current full drivers licence are essential.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Kaituruki / Cultural Support Worker to assist us in our mahi with young Maori rangatahi and their whanau. Key aspects of the role include:

  • Supporting the development and and maintenance of the lifestyle of our rangatahi
  • Using Maori cultural assessment process to tautoko/manaaki assessment and treatment of rangatahi.
  • Working with community for the benefit of rangatahi and their whanau
  • Ensuring optimal engagement with our rangatahi and whanau
  • Helping to develop and facilitate groups as needed
  • Supporting the team in delivering a service based on matauranga Maori
  • Establishing and maintaining communication with Maori community/agencies
