Location: Te Tari Matua, Pōneke | National Office, Wellington
Te Puni Kōkiri is the government’s principal policy advisor on Māori wellbeing and development. We achieve strategic influence with a focus on providing high quality policy advice and holding other agencies to account for delivering public services to, for and with Māori. This includes our mandate to promote Māori achievement in education, training, health and economic resource development along with performing our monitoring and mentoring roles.
Our National Office is on the move and will soon be working in a different way. We need an experienced Project Manager with expertise in large, complex project delivery and change management processes to oversee this. This fixed term is expected to finish on Friday 27 June 2025.

KO WAI KOE | ABOUT YOU

This position carries with it the expectation that you have the tools and experience to hit the ground running and can work at the required pace from day one. We are looking for.

  • 5+ years’ experience in project management. Including working with Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Demonstrated experience in large complex project delivery and in using software management tools to manage and monitor projects.
  • Excellent influencing skills, including at the Executive Level
  • Can operate with a high degree of self-management and reliance. Ability to deliver under and handle pressure
  • Familiarity with building codes, regulations and best practices in relocation projects is desired.
  • Experienced Change Management practitioner focused on helping teams and individuals adapt to new ways of working during and post project.
  • Excellent skills at the executive level.

Responsibilities:

  • Influencing and updating key stakeholders throughout the project. Running workshops and facilitating meetings to get stakeholder feedback
  • Using Agile and Waterfall methodologies to successfully plan, manage and execute our move.
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation throughout the process. Including status reports, meeting minutes and lessons learned.
  • Providing technical and strategic advice to executive leadership through the project
