Job Description:
Key Account Manager – Gastroenterology (remote)
Do you enjoy the freedom to take leadership and drive activities? Are you analytical, service-oriented, and ready to go the extra mile for your customers with a product that helps people live better lives?
As our Danish Key Account Manager within gastroenterology, you will be responsible for customer engagement by building and maintaining solid relationships with key doctors, hospitals, and opinion leaders in Denmark. With the support of our Nordic team, you will develop and implement strategic account plans to achieve sales targets, foster account growth, and identify new business opportunities.
“If you enjoy a broad role, this is it! We value entrepreneurship and courage. At the same time, freedom brings responsibility. With us, you can fulfill yourself,” says Nordic Sales Manager, Specialty Brands, Sari Pellinen.
Ferring + you
You will join our Nordic gastroenterology business unit alongside Key Account Managers covering Sweden, Finland, and Norway. The team also comprises a Head of Gastroenterology (with a strong network and experience to draw on), a Nordic Sales Manager, a Product Manager, and a Commercial Specialist.
We are working towards creating synergies and streamlining our work processes, which includes increased collaboration. You can always run ideas by and learn from colleagues, including our medical team. We believe in a supportive and collaborative work environment where everyone’s voice is heard.
Your day at Ferring
You will spend most of your time representing Ferring at clinics and hospitals, sharing knowledge about Pentasa, which is used to treat Crohn’s and other bowel diseases. As you will represent a mature product, you will need to offer more than just a product presentation, which is part of what makes your job particularly challenging and exciting.
Your role is integral to the success of our product, and we value your contribution. While we have well-established account plans, we are looking for you to take a patient-centric approach, understanding how our product is used in practice – and using that knowledge to influence our strategy.
Other key tasks include:
- Conducting regular business reviews and performance analyses for key accounts
- Planning, including informing your team about your daily activities and next week’s planning
- Managing the budget assigned to your activities, presenting expense reports, and ensuring return on investment
- Strategic project management, including proposing activities and projects – such as setting up Ferring Academy days for our Danish customers, where we bring in Nordic speakers and facilitate knowledge sharing
While we expect you to have sales experience, you will spend approximately the first month getting up to speed on Ferring as an organization and the product itself, allowing you to expand your knowledge of the pharma industry.
Behind our innovation – there’s you
Being naturally empathetic, you are excellent at building and maintaining solid relationships with key customers and opinion leaders.
Your analytical ability and business acumen allow you to see the bigger business issues for your customers, obtain information from the market – and feed what you learn back into our marketing material and strategy.
We are also looking for you to have:
- Extensive sales experience from an equivalent field – giving you a good understanding of the terminology and communication style of doctors and key opinion leaders within the medical field
- A background in science, biology, medicine, or pharmacy
- Knowledge of the Danish market and a good understanding of Danish regulations
- Strong communication skills in Danish and English
- Some experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce
