Description:
BioXcel Therapeutics is seeking an exceptional and experienced Psychiatry Key Account Director to champion IGALMI, our innovative treatment for agitation associated with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia within assigned geography. In this results-driven role, you will play a key role in educating psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals (HCPs) about IGALMI’s potential to improve patient management and quality of life. This role will focus on Community Mental/Behavioral Health Centers, Long Term Care Facilities for Behavioral Health, and additional psychiatry settings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 5 years of successful experience in pharmaceutical sales, preferably within the central nervous system (CNS) space calling on psychiatrists or psychiatric accounts.
- Experience in Community Mental/Behavioral Health Centers and/or Long Term Care preferred.
- Demonstrated strong capability in account management skill sets, superior selling competencies, and proven sales performance track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset and can-do attitude.
- Strong ability to stay informed on reimbursement dynamics, anticipate and effectively address payer access issues (IDNs, Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial), and navigate reimbursement challenges. Experience with medical benefit/ buy & bill preferred but not required.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences of HCPs.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Prior experience launching and promoting a new medication within the psychiatry space.
Established relationships and proven success within Mental/Behavioral Health Accounts and/or Behavioral Health Long Term Care facilities.
Market Access or Hospital/Institutional Experience, inclusive of contracting and formulary/protocol development
Experience launching a buy & bill/medical benefit product
Long Term Care experience
Experience in start-up company or launch environment
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute strategic territory plans to maximize sales opportunities for IGALMI within assigned territory, focusing on key psychiatric clinics and outpatient care facilities, and monitor plan execution through relevant KPIs.
Build strong, trust-based relationships with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other relevant HCPs who manage patients with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
Deliver impactful presentations on IGALMI’s mechanism of action, clinical data, and its potential to effectively manage agitation in these patient populations, emphasizing the importance of healthcare provider monitoring.
Partner with HCPs to navigate reimbursement challenges and ensure smooth patient access to IGALMI.
Market & Therapeutic area expertise: Gather and validate key trends and dynamics in the market, map account linkages, and apply comprehensive therapeutic knowledge to uncover and prioritize unique opportunities.
Conduct ongoing market research to understand competitor activity, payer landscape, and evolving treatment trends in the management of agitation associated with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
Provide insightful feedback and collaborate with regional teammates and other key stakeholders to develop and implement effective sales strategies for IGALMI.
