CAPABILITY - THE SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS REQUIRED TO DO THIS JOB WELL

  • BA degree in business management, marketing or a related field is desirable
  • Negotiation skills to secure favourable terms, pricing and promotional opportunities
  • Collaboration within the UK Retail team and cross-functionally
  • Organisational and project management skills
  • Critical thinking capabilities relating to market trends, customer behaviours and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities
  • Interpersonal skills to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Data analysis and reporting

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as a Key Account Manager within an FMCG business is essential
  • Experience working with big players such as Tesco and Sainsbury’s

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive revenue growth for specific accounts within the Grocery sector in our UK Retail channel. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of major UK grocery players, ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, strong negotiation skills.

  • Salary: Up to £50,000
  • Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm

THE WORK - YOUR 4 MOST IMPORTANT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Account management - Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts maximising sales and ensuring satisfaction. Conduct regular reviews, offering insights to boost product visibility.
  • Sales plan execution - Co-create and implement a comprehensive sales plan for specific accounts aligned to the alignment with overall company objectives
  • Cross-functional collaboration - Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to remain competitive within the industry through promotional campaigns, order fulfilment and product portfolio
  • Forecasting and reporting - Data analytics and forecasting to provide opportunities for growth and operational efficiency

ACCOUNTABILITY – WHAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR DELIVERING

  • Managing commercial performance of your assigned accounts
  • Develop and implement comprehensive account plans, outlining short-term and long-term objectives
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new opportunities and potential threats
  • Utilise sales analytics to identify trends and make data-driven decisions
  • Lead negotiations with key accounts to secure favourable terms and pricing which align with company policies and legal standards
  • Coordinate promotions and product launches to enhance brand visibility
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns that resonate with target customers
  • Continuously monitor sales performance against targets and KPIs
  • Schedule regular meetings to understand customer needs and address concerns.
