Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

The Key Account Manager at Elliotts is responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with large, complex building contractors and construction firms operating across multiple job sites within our patch.
This role focuses on nurturing existing relationships, increasing share of wallet, and ensuring customer satisfaction through a deep understanding of client needs and a close partnership with internal teams, especially the Sales Hub, which will process orders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain long-term, strategic partnerships with large building contractors, developers, and key decision-makers within these businesses.
  • Act as the main point of contact for these key accounts, ensuring proactive communication and exceptional service.
  • Conduct regular on-site visits to client locations and sites to understand their projects, challenges, and supply needs.

Maintain a detailed understanding of clients’ current and upcoming projects, ensuring Elliotts’ services are well-aligned with their objectives.

  • Business development & growth
  • Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and work to acquire new, high-value clients in the construction industry.
  • Develop strategies to increase the scope and value of services provided, positioning Elliotts as a trusted partner for regional house builders and construction companies working on large-scale projects.
  • Work towards agreed sales and margin targets, ensuring growth across all key accounts.

Regularly review and analyse account performance, identifying areas for improvement and increased engagement.

  • Collaboration with Sales Hub
  • Maintain a strong, collaborative working relationship with the Sales Hub team, ensuring smooth and efficient order processing for key accounts.
  • Provide clear, accurate information to the Sales Hub to ensure client requirements are fully understood and met in a timely manner.

Address any issues that arise during the order or fulfilment process by working closely with the Sales Hub to find swift resolutions.

  • Project management & coordination:
  • Oversee the coordination of supplies for multiple job sites across clients’ projects, ensuring that orders are delivered on time and within the agreed terms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure stock availability and delivery schedules align with the needs of key clients.

Manage client expectations around pricing, delivery timelines, and product availability, ensuring transparency and satisfaction at all times.

  • Market & industry awareness:
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, competitive offerings, and new products within the building and construction sector.
  • Use market knowledge to recommend solutions and innovations that will benefit clients, adding value to their projects and positioning Elliotts as a forward-thinking supplier.

Attend relevant industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build contacts and expand Elliotts’ influence in the market.
