Job Title: Key Worker (Temporary Accommodation Services)
About us: For over 30 years the E C Roberts Centre have helped and supported vulnerable families to learn the skills needed to keep a safe roof over their heads, enabling them to go on and lead better lives as a result.
Location: E C Roberts Centre, Portsmouth
Working Hours: Full time, 37hrs per week.

Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome and support families as they transition into their temporary homes, helping them feel safe and secure.
- Work closely with individuals and families to assess their needs and provide guidance on important areas such as finances, home management, and parenting.
- Develop personalised action plans for each family, helping them to access essential services and resources.
- Regularly review and celebrate the progress of families as they work towards stability and independence.
- Ensure that records are maintained with care and professionalism, in accordance with our high standards and GDPR guidelines.
- Be a dedicated advocate for the safeguarding and well-being of children, ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies.
- Conduct property observations to ensure safe and suitable living conditions for families, coordinating repairs and renewals as needed.
- Help service users understand and adhere to their housing agreements, empowering them to manage their responsibilities.
What You’ll Bring:

A full driving license and access to your own vehicle.
- Knowledge of the welfare benefits system, safeguarding policies, and the challenges families face due to poor mental health, addiction, or homelessness.
- Flexibility to work an average of 1 weekend per month, and occasional bank holidays as part of a supportive rota system. Time off in lieu is given for weekend or holiday working hours.
