We’d like you to join us as a Kitchen Assistant at the Kings Norton Hospital in Birmingham. The role is full time, 38 hours per week.
Kings Norton Hospital will is a 32 bedded purpose-built Psychiatric Intensive Care, Male and Female Acute Mental Health Unit’s providing a secure and safe, gender-specific environment for adults who have suffered an acute deterioration or relapse in their mental well-being. The hospital opened in December 2022.
We specialise in providing intensive and bespoke, individualised treatment plans working collaboratively with patients and their families or carers.

Responsibilities:

  • To work closely with the catering team ensuring a high quality food service for the patients / service users and staff Key Accountabilities:
  • Prepare and cook food to meet requirements of planned menus.
  • Preparation of the staff restaurant and vending areas for service as required.
  • Presentation and service of staff meals and beverages.
  • Preparation and distribution of all function and hospitality work across the site.
  • Assisting in the assembly and distribution of patient meals where required ensuring that temperatures of food are monitored and recorded.
  • Operation of the dishwashing machine as required.
  • Ensure all equipment used in the kitchen and dining room is clean and hygienic.
  • Assist the Chef in preparing for special functions as required.
  • Ensure any special dietary instructions are correctly followed.
