OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a kitchen setting, preferably within catering or restaurant environments, is desirable but not essential.
  • A basic understanding of food safety practices and culinary techniques is an advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills within the culinary field.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the kitchen schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of meals, including chopping, slicing, and cooking ingredients as directed by the head cook or chef.
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment by washing dishes, sanitising surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately.
  • Support the culinary team in catering events, ensuring that food safety standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors when supplies are low.
  • Participate in food preparation tasks for special events or large orders as required.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff members.
