Description:

WE’RE LOOKING FOR A DEDICATED KITCHEN ASSISTANT TO SUPPORT OUR CULINARY TEAM, ENSURING THE PREPARATION AND DELIVERY OF HIGH-QUALITY MEALS WHILE MAINTAINING A CLEAN AND SAFE KITCHEN ENVIRONMENT.

Our purpose-built care home offers exceptional levels of Nursing, Dementia, and Palliative care for up to 30 residents.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Organizational Skills: Strong skills to manage tasks efficiently and maintain a clean, orderly kitchen.
  • Food Safety Knowledge: Basic understanding of food safety and handling principles.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen attention to cleanliness, proper food storage, and accurate handling of deliveries.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills for effective teamwork with kitchen staff and management.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively, contributing to a positive and productive kitchen environment.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous Experience: Experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is advantageous but not essential.
  • Food Handling Knowledge: Familiarity with food handling and safety procedures is beneficial.

  • Delivery Handling: Receive, check, and safely store kitchen deliveries, ensuring proper accounting and storage.
  • Food Safety: Implement safe food handling principles to meet high food safety standards.
  • Cleaning Procedures: Follow cleaning procedures for various surfaces and equipment to ensure sanitization and maintenance.
  • Presentation: Ensure all areas are well-presented and maintained, contributing to a professional kitchen environment.
  • Safe Work Practices: Practice safe systems of work to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Health & Safety: Adhere to Health and Safety at Work legislation, ensuring compliance and safety.
  • Professionalism: Act in a professional and courteous manner, fostering a positive workplace.
