Description:

QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent
Training: Food Safety training is a plus
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and Responsibilities specified.
Licensure: Not Applicable
Language: Good proficiency in English Language; and Arabic is a plus.
Computer Proficiency: Computer basics

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB:

Responsible for the delivery of proper diet to patients according to doctor/dietitian orders. Processes diet orders, Nasogastric feedings and other feeding directions; with assisting in Supervising Catering Food Safety standards.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

  • Receives and processes Diet Order list from nursing units (Check diet sheet with the diet card based from the meal ordering report in iCare and SAP systems according to each meal.)
  • Responsible for Nasogastric feeding preparation based on dietitian or doctor order.
  • Receives patient’s complains and reports it.
  • Visits patients’ with modified diet and takes their diet orders.
  • Follows meal plan of patient’s on special diet based from therapeutic dietitian assessment.
  • Supervises tray line: Monitors the tray identification, check type, quantity and quality of patient food and ensures that the tray display meets the standards established by the hospital.
  • Generates monthly reports to Hospitality Manager on patients with nutrition care plan.
  • Summarizes the total number of daily and monthly meals for administrative and finance use.
  • Audits compliance to catering Food Safety standards and generates reports to Hospitality manager
  • Reports to catering supervisor kitchen performance, incidences, areas of improvements.
  • Assists catering supervisor in monitoring meal consumption and wastage, inventory levels and other different tasks like Menu analysis.
  • Ensures safety standards (occupational and patient safety) are compiled.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Direct Reporting Authority.
  • Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.
  • Provides or promotes people centered care.
  • Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.
