Description:

We are seeking friendly and professional staff members to support Camp Loma Mar, and provide kids and families with the ultimate overnight camping experience. Our amazing staff collaborate daily to ensure that programs and activities run smoothly, and that campers of all ages and backgrounds have a safe and memorable experience.

POSITION SUMMARY:

These general functions will be carried out in keeping with the Goals, Policies and Mission of the YMCA of the East Bay. Under the direction of the Food Services Director and Cook, support the food service program with activities such as meal preparation, dishwashing and kitchen clean-up. Model YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring to staff and program participants.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date
  • Previous related experience with diverse populations preferred

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Under direction, assist with food preparation needed to ensure high-quality and timely meals.
  2. Continuously maintain a sanitary and organized work space.
  3. When food preparation needs are met, clean kitchen and food service equipment.
  4. Wash and store dishes.
  5. Assist with receiving and stocking food deliveries. Store all food safely and appropriately.
  6. When directed, closes and secures the kitchen in keeping with food services standards.
  7. Work cooperatively with all staff to ensure the quality of the program and provide friendly and exceptionally helpful customer service.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

  • Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position
  • Ability to stand for 2 hours at a time

  • Ability to perform essential care and maintenance of kitchen and kitchen appliances which may involve, but not limited to the following activities: semi–reaching to full-reach overhead; crouching; kneeling; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and/or legs
