JOB DESCRIPTION:
Global Petcare has decided to establish a “Direct Selling” Center of Excellence (CoE). The purpose of this CoE is to unlock direct selling for Mars with focus on Social Platforms, eB2B, Marketplaces & Drop Shipping and direct-to-consumer (D2C) stores.
Three key pillars of knowledge compose the Direct Selling Backbone: Finance, Supply Chain and Business Architecture. The CoE ambition is to make Direct Selling simple across all MARS, solving pain points across these three areas and sharing best practices across the business, globally.
The Knowledge Lead will play a pivotal role in building, managing, and maintaining a comprehensive global knowledge base for the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Backend Operations. This position will ensure that the knowledge repository is a strategic asset that drives operational efficiency and innovation across global backend operations. The Knowledge Lead will lead the selection, implementation, and adoption of knowledge management tools, promote their use across teams, and organize training and engagement activities. In collaboration with the wider company network, the role will support continuous improvement, making sure knowledge is shared, maintained, and utilized effectively to enhance CoE initiatives. The Knowledge Lead ensures that the team is consistent with industry trends, as well as internal MARS Knowledge and Best Practices.
Responsibilities:
- Select and Implement Knowledge Base: Choose and create a global knowledge management tool to support backend operations.
- Project Management: Lead the adoption and roll-out of the tool, managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication.
- Training Development: Design and deliver training programs to ensure effective use of the knowledge base across global teams.
- Promote Adoption: Drive engagement and incentivize use through communication campaigns, events, and collaboration with internal teams.
- Maintain and Update Content: Ensure the knowledge base is regularly updated, accurate, and reflective of ongoing CoE activities.
- Organize Knowledge Events: Host webinars, workshops, and other initiatives to promote knowledge sharing and CoE best practices.
- Ensure Industry and Internal Alignment: Stay updated on industry trends and integrate MARS’ internal best practices and knowledge into the system.
- Foster Knowledge-Sharing Culture: Encourage team contributions and cross-departmental collaboration to enhance knowledge dissemination.
- Monitor and Improve: Track usage metrics and feedback to continuously refine and improve the knowledge management system.
- Report to Leadership: Provide regular updates to CoE leadership, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives
