The post will sit within the Records and Knowledge Management strand of the DBT Knowledge and Information Management (KIM) team. The ideal candidate will have a KIM background with experience of working to understand business and user needs They will work across the department, helping to embed good knowledge management policies and processes.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Knowledge Manager will be responsible for supporting and implementing on knowledge management across the department. This is a great opportunity to work on a new work strand within KIM whilst building relationships, skills and your experience.

Key tasks include:

  • Support the promotion of good knowledge and information management in teams, helping to anticipate and manage risk
  • Help to embed the benefits of knowledge management by monitoring performance to improve behaviours across the department
  • Work closely with colleagues in our Digital Data and Technology (DDAT) Team to support knowledge management on corporate systems
  • Will advance the knowledge management community through sharing best practice
  • Provide support to business critical and highly sensitive systems
  • Manage and support records management projects
  • Work with the Head of Records and Knowledge to develop and maintain policies and guidance
  • Engage with the KIM community across government
  • Work with the wider team to support the work and objectives of the KIM department
  • Knowledge Management support to Public Inquires
  • Line management of one direct report

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE CRITERIA

  • Experience of working in a Knowledge and Information Management environment
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal to a wide range of stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to be proactive and self-motivated
  • Good attention to detail

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE CRITERIA

  • Experience of working with SharePoint and MS Teams
  • Information, archives or records management qualification or equivalent experience
