HR Assistant Apprentice
Contract: 18-24 months
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic HR Assistant Apprentice to join our HR team at New College Durham Academies Trust. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain practical experience in HR while supporting key areas such as recruitment, payroll, and general HR administration. The apprenticeship will last approximately 18-24 months, offering you the chance to develop valuable skills and knowledge in a dynamic and supportive environment.
As an HR Assistant, you will play an integral role in the recruitment process, assisting with tasks such as advertising vacancies, arranging interviews, and issuing employment contracts. You will also maintain accurate HR records, input and verify payroll data, and handle general HR queries. Your work will ensure that our HR systems are kept up to date and that pre-employment checks are completed efficiently. Additionally, you will assist with organising meetings, taking notes, and supporting HR projects as required. The ability to produce reports and analyse workforce data will also be part of your responsibilities, helping to inform key decisions within the team.
To be successful in this role, you will need GCSEs (Grades 9-4/A*-C) in English and Maths, or an equivalent qualification. Strong communication skills are essential, both written and verbal, along with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You should be well-organised, able to meet deadlines, and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. A driving licence is preferable as you will be required to travel between Trust sites during the course of your apprenticeship.
In return, you will gain hands-on HR experience while receiving training and support to help you develop professionally, with all necessary training provided to ensure you succeed in this important role.
If you’re ready to take the first step in your HR career, we’d love to hear from you.
Applications will be considered as received therefore this post may close before the expected end date.
