ARE YOU OUR NEXT MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST?

We’re looking for a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Core Lab team in Kelowna, BC. You will be responsible for delivering in a timely manner the highest level of clinical and scientific quality to everyone we serve with a variety of testing using the latest technology. Your contributions will make a difference – the results and reports you deliver will be provided to physicians and greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone’s life.

SALARY FROM $34 PER HOUR

The hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to, level of experience and education requirements.

JOB SUMMARY

all quality control checks and reference materials are run as required. Participate in all quality assurance programs and
adheres to company and external regulatory bodies guidelines. Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
as appropriate.

  • Carry a CSMLS Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing

  • Nice to have: working experience in the Chemistry or Hematology field, knowledge and understanding of Diagnostic Accreditation standards.

Responsible for the follow-up on missing samples, documentation and results in their department
Perform sample analysis using a variety of manual and automated procedures
Record, interpret and/or approve test results according to established procedures in a timely manner
Ensure that abnormal Stat and critical results are handled as outlined in the department guidelines
Responsible to sign-off on reports as required
Consult with department Senior MLT or Manager to assist with non-routine problems or concerns
Ensure all inquiries and problems are handled in a courteous and professional manner
Evaluate new methods and instruments under supervisory review where directed
Ensure that Quality Control (QC)/Quality Assurance (QA) is performed according to department processes and
procedures
