Responsibilities:

BASIC PURPOSE:

Perform sample preparation and procedures prior to analyses

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review LIMS summary reports to plan and organize daily work
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) when conducting work
  • Perform some basic testing procedures
  • Perform routine operational maintenance/verification for support equipment
  • Identify any non-routine samples and seek guidance on procedures for handling
  • Meet quality and TAT specifications required by the client and ensure samples are processed within holding time requirements
  • Identify and communicate procedural non conformances to Supervisor
  • Employ proper laboratory techniques to minimize risk of mislabeling, sample mix-up and cross contamination between samples and other materials
  • Provide general lab support including but not limited to prepare sample blanks, sort and distribute samples, archive and dispose dated samples, acid-base neutralization, and solvent waste disposal
  • Provide Supervisor with updates on workstation status including advance notification of any delays
  • Adhere to Bureau Veritas Code of Ethics Policy
  • Support and comply with all Bureau Veritas policies, Quality System and Health & Safety program
  • Participate, when requested in department and health and safety meetings
  • Participate, when requested in internal and external audits
  • Keep work area clean, neat and organized
  • Maintain training records and relevant qualifications
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by senior staff
