Location/Division Specific Information
Our PPD® Laboratory Services team has a direct impact on improving patient health through the expertise of scientists, industry thought leaders and therapeutic experts. Discover Impactful Work:
Performs a variety of sample and standard handling tasks in support of the laboratory. Follows established SOPs and responds to requests from laboratory staff with minimal direction. Assists laboratory staff in following sample handling procedures and implements these procedures as necessary. Possesses a basic understanding of several portions of the overall sample/standard process.
Summarized Purpose:
Under close supervision, leads delivery of electronic information to the laboratory database. Provides technical advice for the use and operation of the laboratory database system including data quality control and content verification procedures according to SOP’s.

Essential Functions:

  • Be knowledgeable of all Logfile Roles and Responsibilities as data reconciliation team members must import updated information into Assist LIMS and must follow all the requirements of the logfile processes and SOPs.
  • Utilize client provided data trackers to investigate sample demographic discrepancies and make updates to the Assist LIMS as appropriate.
  • Update data trackers as appropriate.
  • Communicate updated trackers to the lab team, sponsor, client, or site.
  • Reassign samples in the Assist LIMS either within the same project code or between project codes as appropriate based on reconciliation requests.
  • Understand and complete virtual import of sample information as appropriate per guides and SOP.
  • Understand and address all problem samples, making updates to Assist LIMS as appropriate, obtaining appropriate manifests for add on samples, and generally troubleshooting of sample discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the opening team and labelers to complete reassignments as appropriate.
  • Confirm samples that are truly not received and mark as such (NSR) in the Assist LIMS.
  • Update demographics in the Assist LIMS when samples are mislabeled but have already been analyzed.

Education & Experience:
High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
Technical positions may require a certificate
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 4 years).
In some cases and equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and web-based applications preferred
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of regulated industry / environment preferred
  • Evidenced administrative competence and relevant data services skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to support quality decision making
