Hiring Unit:
Department of Biology (Professor Jon Sakata)

Position Summary:

• Assists in the execution of laboratory projects and experiments, including behavioral and immunocytochemical experiments.
• Assists in small animal handling and husbandry.
• Maintains information about breeding colony and bird health.
• Equipment maintenance.
• Lab maintenance (ensures work areas are clean and safe).
• Ensures hazardous materials are properly stored; handled and disposed.
• Maintains inventory of lab supplies.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:

• Strong team player
• Good communicator
• Strong attention to detail

Attention to detail. -. -Available on weekends. -Experience working with live animals. -Training in wet lab procedures (e.g., histology, tissue sectioning)

Experience and education:

• At least one year of experience working in a research laboratory (not course work).
• 1 year working with animals
• Background in neuroscience and behavior
• Experience in wet lab procedures (eg., histology, tissue sectioning)
• Proficiency with Excel, Google sheets, or related

Location: This position is located in Montreal, Quebec and the work for this position is expected to be performed in Quebec
