You will play a critical role in maturing a novel antibody modality that has the potential to unlock new therapeutic targets.
The Contribution You Will Make:
BioLoomics is seeking a Lab Research Associate to provide cross team support for the programs across the Research and Development teams. You will be responsible for routine synthetic biology such as nucleic acid production and isolation, critical reagent formulation and production such as E. coli competent cell preparation and buffer preparation, inventory stocking, glassware washing, and general lab maintenance. You will work closely with the R&D team and the Lab Manager. Your work will support a broader team of scientists that engineer DNA and mammalian cells in search of new therapeutic antibodies and includes exposure and participation in innovative techniques. This position is 100% on-site, M-F, occasional weekend hours.

Your Core Responsibilities:

  • Culturing and purifying nucleic acid from E. coli.
  • Preparing, sterilizing, and aliquoting buffers and media for bacterial and mammalian cell culture.
  • Competent E. coli cell preparation.
  • Aid with receiving, stocking, and tracking chemical and dry good inventories.
  • General lab maintenance: washing and sterilizing glassware, removing biohazardous and non-biohazardous waste, cleaning equipment, etc.

The Skills & Experience You Will Bring to Our Company:

  • B.A./B.S. in a Life science (Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology) with 1-2 years of experience working in a molecular/cell biology lab (or similar wet lab environment). Industry experience preferred.
  • Good understanding of fundamental molecular biology techniques including nucleic acid purification, calculations for molarity, aseptic technique, and buffer preparation.
  • Well-developed organization and verbal communication skills.
