Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and conducts pre-operational and operational inspections on University laboratories and confirms their compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
- Records and reports relevant information about inspection findings.
- Notes deficiencies in complex laboratory processes and corrects them accordingly.
- Maintains advanced laboratory safety systems and equipment.
- Obtains necessary materials to ensure laboratory safety.
- Trains laboratory safety staff and aids with clinical and laboratory staff training.
- Provides input into improvement and updates on trainings to leadership positions.
- Aids staff in their adherence to laboratory safety laws and resolves issues as they arise.
- Drafts reports based on employee feedback regarding safety practices.
- Expands, updates, and distributes laboratory safety resources.
