Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and conducts pre-operational and operational inspections on University laboratories and confirms their compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Records and reports relevant information about inspection findings.
  • Notes deficiencies in complex laboratory processes and corrects them accordingly.
  • Maintains advanced laboratory safety systems and equipment.
  • Obtains necessary materials to ensure laboratory safety.
  • Trains laboratory safety staff and aids with clinical and laboratory staff training.
  • Provides input into improvement and updates on trainings to leadership positions.
  • Aids staff in their adherence to laboratory safety laws and resolves issues as they arise.
  • Drafts reports based on employee feedback regarding safety practices.
  • Expands, updates, and distributes laboratory safety resources.
