360 Labs Initiative at a Glance
The 360 Labs are a new capability that is currently being built up within the Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED). The primary mission of this effort is to provide greater access and support for the use of cutting-edge biomedical research technologies by scientists across our discovery portfolio.
Operating as an integrated ecosystem, the 360 Lab environment will deliver core scientific technologies, expertise and enabling activities, as well as facilitate knowledge sharing and learning experiences in close collaboration with our therapeutic areas and functions. Together, these efforts will serve to increase the speed, enhance the robustness and improve the sustainability of our exploratory research and early discovery activities.
The Opportunity
The Proteomics & Metabolomics Core Technology Platform in the 360 Labs Initiative is seeking to add to its team an experienced, highly motivated, collaborative, and customer-centric lab-based scientific professional who is passionate about using LC-MS proteomics technologies in drug discovery. The successful candidates will have a robust background in the life sciences, as well as broad experience in the use of functional proteomics workflows to generate scientific insights through the development and application of investigative studies. You will work with a sense of urgency as a part of a matrix team, interacting with experts from each of our therapeutic disease areas and functions to advance drug discovery projects, and will participate in the continued evolution of the Proteomics & Metabolomics Core Technology Platform within the pRED organization.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Plan, design, execute and analyze hands-on experiments, with a high degree of autonomy, to interrogate the proteome for functional characterisation of disease biology, model system characterisation, and identification of target and drug mechanisms;
• Develop, optimize and implement either standard or customized LC-MS proteomics workflows, including sample preparation, nano LC-MS/MS measurement using high-end mass spectrometry, and data QC and processing;
• Apply scientific rigor to optimize newly implemented and / or developed proteomics workflows to ensure high-quality FAIR data generation, collaborate with other laboratory and bioinformatics teams to analyze and interpret LC-MS-based proteomics data, be accountable for the timely generation of comprehensive project reports, and engage with stakeholders to present and discuss findings in a dynamic and flexible manner.
• Embrace a continuous learning mindset by actively engaging with the scientific literature to stay abreast of emergent technologies/ approaches in the proteomics field.

Your Profile

• You have a PhD degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or related field, with 3-5 years of proteomics research experience, preferably within either the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry;
• You are a skilled experimentalist with the aptitude to design complex studies including quantitative and affinity enrichment-based proteomics workflows to study protein abundance, activation state, localization and interactions;
• You have exceptional competency in the processing, analysis, and interpretation of advanced proteomics datastreams, with the ability to integrate with other OMICS technologies being considered a plus.
