Description:
BASIC SUMMARY:
While in a hands-on educational setting and under the close supervision of a Lab Management team or Lead Technologist you will provide daily support to ensure that all laboratory functions are carried out. You will also learn how to carry out those functions within regulatory and GMP guidelines in accordance with 21 CFR parts 210 and 211, in addition to ISO 17025 guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: High school diploma/Associate degree in Microbiology or related discipline required.
- Experience: 0-2 years related experience in a laboratory setting.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
- Certification/Licensure: None.
- Other:
o Must have the ability to work in a fast paced and team-oriented work environment.
o Effective communication and listening skills in a teamwork environment.
o Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects with a strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain working knowledge of the Quality System and Laboratory Information System.
- Support the daily operation of a microbiological testing laboratory, including but not limited to:
o Receive, unpack, and organize customer samples for laboratory processing.
o Organize and prepare customer returns for processing.
o Under supervision and guidance discard customer samples.
o Perform daily, weekly, and monthly routine cleaning of all laboratory equipment as needed.
o Assist with Operations laboratory inventory.
o Restock consumables and materials required for sample processing.
o Under supervision and guidance operate laser cutter.
o Dispose of microbial cultures, chemicals, recyclables, sharps, and glass in proper waste containers.
- Comply with all aspects of laboratory safety, safety stations, safety manuals, safety SOP’s and MSDS/SDS sheets.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
