EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Equivalent to two years of experience providing instructional support services for a unit or discipline, acting as a student assistant, or in producing materials or supplies related to the discipline.
OR
Equivalent to two years of college with 16 semester units in courses involving extensive use of materials, supplies, or equipment and in a discipline related to the area to which assigned may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
OR
Equivalent to four years of college with 16 semester units in courses involving extensive use of materials, supplies, or equipment and in a related discipline may be substituted for the experience.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in solid phase synthesis, plate assays, and microfluidic device fabrication is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of support services in a laboratory setting, including the fundamental principles, methods, and techniques related to chemistry.
- Proficiency in operating scientific and highly technical equipment, with the ability to interpret results accurately.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex data, ensuring accuracy in experimental results.
- Ability to assess and manage laboratory materials and supplies, including the capacity to learn how to adjust and perform minor repairs on scientific equipment.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to plan activities and prepare schedules effectively.
- Strong writing and communication skills, essential for documenting research findings and collaborating with team members.
- Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining scientific equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively, prioritizing workload to meet project deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Equipment Management: Assist in ordering and receiving lab equipment, ensuring all necessary tools are available and in good working condition.
- Daily Operations: Manage daily lab operations, including maintaining equipment, preparing reagents, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Experimental Support: Assist in experimental procedures, data collection, and analysis, contributing to our ongoing studies in membrane permeability and assay development.
