Lab Technician (Wet Chemistry)

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented lab technician to join our research team.You will play a crucial role in executing our scientists R&D plans for our innovative product COzTERRA™, which is a textile treatment that removes CO2 from air. You will leverage our innovative high throughput experimentation platform to execute our experiments. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic research environment and the chance to contribute to innovative advancements in the field of textiles.

Qualifications

• A bachelors (0-1 years experience) or diploma holder (with min 3 years experience) with experience in Chemistry, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering
• Good understanding of chemical principles, laboratory techniques, and materials characterization methods
• Adept with wet chemistry work
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and reliable results
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency in using standard laboratory equipment and Microsoft Office suite
• Proficiency with Python is a plus
• Prior experience with textile treatments, formulations, or materials characterization is a plu

Formulation Preparation

• Work closely with our scientific team to prepare formulations for textile treatments based on established protocols and guidelines
• Accurately measure and mix chemicals and materials to ensure the consistency and reproducibility of formulations both manually and using our high throughput formulation system
• Treat textiles using these formulations
• Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, observations, and outcomes

Laboratory Management

• Assist in the setup and organization of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and materials for various experiments
• Participate in maintaining a clean and safe laboratory environment by adhering to safety protocols and practices
• Prepare solutions, reagents, and samples as required for testing and analysis
• Coordinate procurement of new chemicals and manage chemical inventory

Materials Characterisation

• Conduct materials characterization using our proprietary lab tools
• Help in the interpretation of characterization data and contribute to the preparation of analysis reports
• Collaborate with researchers to develop a comprehensive understanding of material properties and behavior

Data Collection and Analysis

• Collect data from experiments and characterization processes accurately and meticulously
• Organize and analyze experimental data using software tools or platforms as directed
• Present findings and observations in a clear and concise manner to the research team

Collaboration and Learning

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including researchers, scientists, and engineers
• Actively participate in team meetings, discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions
• Continuously learn and stay updated on relevant scientific advancements and industry trends
