SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Minimum 1 year direct laboratory experience
- BSc or BCIT diploma or relevant experience in similar laboratory environment
- Excellent English, verbal and written
- Strong organizing and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as a part of a team
- Safely perform physically demanding tasks with repeated lifting and handle weights of up to 25 lbs
Responsibilities:
BASIC PURPOSE:
Reporting to the XRF Manager, the XRF Techician position performs routine and non-routine duties in the XRF Lab including clerical or physical functions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately conduct routine and non-routine analyses of samples using the appropriate method and in accordance with the established schedule such aas high temperature Lithium tetraborate fusion and LOI.a
- Provide technical support to the senior technician and lab assistants, may assists in training new employees
- Maintain a reasonable supply inventory
- Perform routine clerical tasks, washing and other cleanup duties as required
- Operate required instruments such as XRF and its associated computers
- Suggest modification to routine analytical procedures in order to improve accuracy
- Comply with all responsibilities and required as defined in the Company’s policies, SOPs and safety manuals
- Other duties as assigned from time to time
- Comply with occupational health and safety legislation, BV Group Policies and Procedures, Upstream Minerals Management System Policies and Procedures and ISO standards applicable to the position
- Act in a safe and professional manner and wear appropriate attire including the required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
