PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position for up to eight hours. The employee occasionally is required to move to access people or workspaces. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. The ability to optimally communicate is required. The employee may occasionally move up to 15 pounds.
The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work inside an office environment. The environment for which this position functions may contain scents and fragrances. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities:

HOW YOUR ROLE FITS INTO BOLDT:

The Labor Relations Coordinator is a supporting role in executing the Boldt’s labor relations strategy, programs, policies, and procedures. This role is involved in managing the day-to-day labor relations duties, support negotiations of multiple local agreements, and support the negotiations of national agreements between Boldt and labor organizations pertaining to union practices, pensions, healthcare, welfare, salary, and grievances.
The Labor Relations Coordinator is a member of Human Resources team reporting into Labor Relations. To assist with enterprise-wide support, this position collaborates with other members of the HR Team and is expected to be the voice of the craft operations.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

  • Develop and ensure healthy work relationships and a supportive atmosphere in the workplace for craft personnel.
  • Input, track, and provide reporting on craft metrics, IRA tracking and various other data points requested or required.
  • Track and analyze weekly accruals to ensure the fringes that are accruing align with actual fringe payouts and implement continuous process improvements to ensure accurate data.
  • Assist in conducting research and obtain, analyze, and present data showing risk implications for potential construction projects.
  • Assist in examining labor demand and labor availability to highlight gaps while offering creative solutions to mitigate labor shortages. This includes researching labor law, bargaining procedures, economic data, and wage data common for careers, industries, and states to ensure knowledgeable interactions.
  • Resolve issues with unions, field payroll, and project teams quickly and efficiently to mitigate the risk of liquidated damages and/or legal action.
  • Obtain, manage, and enter union labor rates for locations of potential construction projects while successfully collaborating with key partners (payroll, HR, finance, operations, etc.).
  • Attend calls with business agents; collaborate with union liaisons, Local Union, and Building Trade Council leadership to gather information for the Labor Relations team.
  • Participate in collective bargaining process and support the work to ensure labor agreements are administered appropriately as required. Coordinate all Labor Relations information including PLAs, CBAs, National Agreements, and Labor Surveys.
